Romantic Intimate Malaga Wedding at Hotel Cortijo Bravo

Amy and Jordan’s Intimate Malaga Wedding

at Hotel Cortijo Bravo

Sometimes the most beautiful weddings are the ones that keep things small and intimate.

For Amy and Jordan, their wedding day was all about celebrating their marriage surrounded by the people who mattered most. With just 40 adult guests, their wedding at Hotel Cortijo Bravo on 10th June was intimate, romantic and wonderfully relaxed.

Rather than having a huge celebration with hundreds of guests, Amy and Jordan chose to share their special day with a small group of family and friends, creating an atmosphere where everyone could genuinely spend time together and enjoy every moment. And their wedding celebrations didnt begin on the wedding day itself.

Before they said and "I do", Amy and Jordan spent some very special days in Nerja with their family and friends, making the most of being together in Spain and creating memories before the main event. By the time their wedding day arrived, everyone was already settled into the relaxed Spanish atmosphere, making the day itself feel like the perfect culmination of several days of celebration.

A Few Special Days in Nerja Before the Wedding

One of the lovely things about having a destination wedding in Malaga is that your wedding can become much more than a single day. Instead of simply arriving for the ceremony and heading home afterwards, couples and their guests have the opportunity to spend several days together, enjoying everything that makes southern Spain such a wonderful wedding destination.

For Amy and Jordan, those days before their wedding were spent with their family and friends in Nerja. There was time to relax, enjoy the sunshine, explore the area and, most importantly, spend quality time together before the excitement of the wedding day took over.

With only 40 adult guests attending, everyone was able to be part of those pre-wedding moments, making the whole experience feel much more like a holiday shared with the people they loved. It also meant that when the wedding day arrived, guests werent strangers who had only just met. They had already had the chance to spend time together, catch up and enjoy being in Spain. That is one of the things we love most about smaller destination weddings.

Choosing Hotel Cortijo Bravo for Their Malaga Wedding

When youre planning an intimate wedding, choosing the right venue becomes particularly important.
With a smaller guest list, you want somewhere that still feels special and romantic without the wedding becoming lost in a huge space. Hotel Cortijo Bravo is a wonderful setting for this type of celebration. Set in the hills above the Malaga coastline, the boutique hotel combines traditional Spanish character with beautiful gardens, terraces and spectacular views across the surrounding countryside. It has a wonderfully romantic atmosphere, making it ideal for couples looking for something intimate and distinctly Spanish. For Amy and Jordan, it provided the perfect backdrop for their wedding day and gave their guests a beautiful setting in which to celebrate together.

A Relaxing Morning with the Girls

On the morning of the wedding, Amy was able to enjoy a relaxed start to the day as she got ready with her bridesmaids.
There is something lovely about those quiet hours before a wedding. The day hasnt quite started yet, but everyone knows that the excitement is building. Hair and make- up are being finished, dresses are being prepared and there is that wonderful feeling that after months of planning, the moment youve been waiting for is finally here. Having her bridesmaids around her meant Amy could enjoy those final preparations surrounded by some of the people closest to her. Rather than rushing around, there was time to enjoy the morning, soak up the atmosphere and appreciate just how special the day was going to be. And as the time for the ceremony drew closer, the excitement naturally began to build.

The Excitement Builds at Hotel Cortijo Bravo

For the guests, the anticipation was building too. There is always a special atmosphere immediately before a wedding ceremony. Conversations become a little quieter, people start taking their seats and everyone knows that they are only moments away from seeing the bride arrive.
For Amy and Jordan, after all those days of celebrating together in Nerja, the wedding day was finally happening. Their 40 guests gathered to watch them exchange their vows and begin this next chapter of their lives together. The intimacy of the guest list made the ceremony particularly personal. Every person there was someone Amy and Jordan had deliberately chosen to share this important moment with.

A Romantic and Intimate Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony was romantic and beautifully intimate. With their closest family and friends around them, Amy and Jordan finally became husband and wife. There is something very special about a smaller wedding ceremony. With fewer guests, everything can feel more personal, and the couple has the opportunity to really take in the people around them. For Amy and Jordan, this wasnt a wedding where they had to spend the day trying to speak to hundreds of people. Instead, they could enjoy the people who meant the most to them and really be present in the moment. And after the ceremony, it was time to start celebrating properly.

Enjoying the Spanish Sunshine

One of the biggest attractions of choosing a Malaga wedding is the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful Spanish setting throughout the day. Following the ceremony, Amy and Jordan and their guests could relax, enjoy drinks and spend time
together in the beautiful surroundings of Hotel Cortijo Bravo where the atmosphere was naturally warm and relaxed.
There was plenty of time for conversations, laughter and photographs, without the day feeling rushed. For destination weddings, these moments between the ceremony and the wedding breakfast can be some of the most enjoyable of the entire day. The formal part is over, the couple are married, and everyone can simply relax and enjoy being together.

An Intimate Wedding Celebration

As the day continued, Amy and Jordans guests came together to enjoy their wedding celebration. A smaller guest list doesnt mean a smaller celebration. In fact, intimate weddings can often have a wonderfully warm atmosphere because everyone is so closely connected to the couple. With only 40 adults attending, Amy and Jordan could share their
wedding day with the people who had played an important part in their lives. There was plenty of time to enjoy the food, drinks and surroundings, while the relaxed Spanish atmosphere continued throughout the afternoon and into the evening.
After spending several days together in Nerja before the wedding, their guests had already begun to feel like one group, making the celebrations feel even more natural.

Planning Your Own Intimate Malaga Wedding

Amy and Jordans wedding is a lovely example of how special a smaller Malaga wedding can be. You dont need a guest list of 100 or 150 people to create an unforgettable destination wedding. Sometimes, having 30, 40 or 50 of your favourite people around you can create an even more meaningful experience. If youre considering an intimate wedding in Malaga, choosing the right venue is one of the most important decisions you make. Our Malaga wedding venues page features a selection of beautiful venues across the area, from boutique hotels and traditional Spanish venues to private fincas and
stunning coastal locations.
Once youve found the type of venue you love, our Malaga wedding planning service can help you bring all the different elements together. From venue selection and budgeting through to supplier coordination and managing the wedding day itself, having an experienced local planner means you can enjoy the exciting parts of planning your wedding without having to worry about every detail from home.

A Beautiful Day Shared with the People They Love

Amy and Jordans wedding day was never about putting on the biggest wedding or having hundreds of guests.
It was about creating a beautiful experience for themselves and the people they loved. From those special days spent together in Nerja before the wedding, to Amy getting ready with her bridesmaids on the morning of the big day, through to the romantic ceremony and relaxed celebrations at Hotel Cortijo Bravo, every part of their wedding reflected that sense of intimacy. And sometimes, that is exactly what makes a wedding so special. A beautiful setting, a wonderful group of family and friends, the Spanish sunshine and two people who are incredibly happy to be getting married.

Congratulations Amy and Jordan! We were delighted to be part of your special day and hope you will always look back on your wedding in Spain and remember not just the wedding itself, but all those wonderful days spent together in Nerja beforehand.
